FAQs

What kind of prints do you sell?

I sell fine art prints (aka Giclée) that are high resolution and fade resistant. All images are printed on a beautiful matte finish paper.

How and why are your prints mounted?

All prints are mounted on white foam-core unless otherwise noted. This is done to enhance the presentation of the print and to offer an affordable product that is ready to hang on a wall. Mounting is both cheaper and less time consuming than matting and framing images and it enables me to sell the images for less.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes. If you want a print that is not mounted, a different size, matted or framed contact me for price.

How much is shipping?

Both shipping and tax are already included in the price.

How and why are the prints so cheap?

My prints are cheap because I produce them myself and because I want them to be. I want as many people as possible to have access to high quality art at affordable prices.

Why are your prints so expensive?

Actually they are not. My prints are high quality archival reproductions and are very reasonably priced in comparison to similar products. In fact, I have yet to see signed and mounted prints being sold for prices as low as the ones I offer.

What does (FMS) mean?

Framed, matted and signed. This is applicable to originals and limited editions.

Are the open edition prints signed as well?

Yes, I sign all open edition prints on the back of the foam-core. Prints $20 or more also come with an impromptu sketch (located on the back next to the signature).

What mediums do you use for your artwork?

If an artwork is color with black lines it is done with watercolor and ink (microns and rotring rapidographs). The grey images are mechanical pencil and the white and black images are white colored pencil on black paper.

Your images are small on my monitor, is there a way to view them in a larger format?

A high-res site is currently underdevelopment. In the meantime you can visit my deviant art page if you would like to view them in a larger manner :: zepangborn.deviant art.com

Are the sizes of the prints and originals exact?

No, they are within a quarter of an inch of the size listed. This is due to a number of reasons, but primarily to simplify the process. This includes the aesthetic look, site construction, and the measuring of the image itself. This is also caused by slight variations when matting or cropping an image. Contact me if you need to know the exact measurements of an image.

What size frames do the originals come in?

To simplify the site I have omitted the frame sizes, which are usually between four and eight inches larger than the image per side. Contact me if you need to know the exact frame size.
